## THE CONCEPT
A survivor-style prediction pool for the 2026 FIFA World Cup (June 11 – July 19). Pay to enter, pick teams to win, survive round by round. Last lobster standing takes the pot.

## WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT
- Starts during GROUP STAGE (not just knockout)
- "Burn" mechanic — every team you pick is used up forever
- "Lobster Trap" buy-back for eliminated players
- Real strategy, not just "pick the favorite"

## HOW IT WORKS

### PHASE 1 — GROUP STAGE (Before first game)
- Pick 2 teams you think will advance out of their groups
- Both advance? ✅ You survive — but those 2 teams are BURNED
- One or both fail? 💀 You're eliminated

### PHASE 2 — KNOCKOUT (R32 → Final, 5 rounds)
- Pick 1 team to WIN each round
- Can't reuse ANY team (including your group stage picks)
- Your pick loses? You're OUT
- Penalties count as a win

**Total picks across the tournament: 7** (2 group + 5 knockout)

### THE STRATEGY
Burn Brazil and Argentina early to guarantee surviving groups? Then you've got no heavyweights for knockout. Gamble on mid-tier teams in groups? Save the big dogs but risk going home before the real games start. That's the game within the game.

## THE LOBSTER TRAP 🦞 (Buy-Back)

Eliminated in group stage? ONE shot at redemption:

- **Original entry:** $100
- **Buy-back fee:** $150 (extra $50 goes to the pot)
- **The catch:** Buy-backs must pick 2 WINNERS in Round of 32 (both must hit). Original survivors only need 1.
- **48-hour window** after group stage ends. Miss it, you're done.
- **One buy-back per player.** No third chances.
- Your burned group stage picks STAY burned.

## THE MONEY

**Entry:** $100 | **Buy-back:** $150

Admin manually marks "Paid" when money lands. No pay, no play.

This is NOT a public website. No Google, no search results, no randos.

- Site blocked from search engines (noindex/nofollow)
- Password/invite code required to join
- Only way in: someone you know sends you the link + code
- Grassroots sharing only — text a friend, they text their buddy
- No social media ads, no public posts
- Admin can rotate the invite code or shut enrollment anytime

Keeps it legally clean (NJ social gambling exception) and keeps out strangers.

## LEGAL — WE'RE COVERED

Designed to stay within NJ's social gambling exception:
