# ⚠️ Anthropic Billing — Action Plan
**Date:** April 8, 2026  
**Urgency: HIGH — $185+ spent yesterday on API credits alone**

## Problem Summary

**Two Anthropic accounts are running simultaneously and both charging:**

**Total April excess so far:** ~$200 in unnecessary API charges on top of the $200 Claude Max subscription

## Root Cause

When Joe switched back to Claude Max ($200/month flat subscription), the API key billing in the separate Anthropic org **was NOT disabled**. Both accounts continued to run and bill independently.

OpenClaw is now correctly using the Claude Max subscription (oauth token), but if any calls are still hitting the old API key, that org auto-recharges to stay active.

## Fix Required (Joe Must Do This)

### Step 1: Check console.anthropic.com
- Log in to the API console (josephfl12@gmail.com account — "Joseph's Individual Org")
- Confirm: Is there any active API usage? Should be ZERO if everything migrated to Claude Max

### Step 2: Disable auto-recharge
- In the billing settings, turn OFF auto-recharge
- This stops the bleeding immediately

### Step 3: Remove payment method (optional but safer)
- If no API calls are expected, removing the card ensures no further charges

### Step 4: Cross-check usage
- Compare: Are API charges listed as "Claude Max" or "API credits"?
- If purely Claude Max, the API account should show zero usage

## What Rob Will Monitor

- Rob's Gmail will flag any further Anthropic receipts
- If another batch of charges appears after Joe disables auto-recharge, escalate immediately
- Current OpenClaw config should be routing through Claude Max — if more charges appear, something in the config is still pointing to the API key

## Dollar Impact

Estimate: If $185/day in API charges continues for the rest of April:
- **$185 × 30 days = $5,550/month** — completely unacceptable vs. the $200 flat rate
- Even at 1 week more: ~$1,295 in unnecessary charges

**Stop this today.**

## Secondary Item: Slack Pro Trial

Rob's Gmail received a "Slack Pro trial ending in 7 days" notice. If Joe isn't actively using Slack, cancel before the trial ends to avoid any surprise charges.
